Be The Lead Marketer Already.

Be the lead marketer

As the leader of your business or practice, are you truly leading and guiding your team members to success?

Well, you may be forgetting a very important part of your role … being a lead marketer.

You are the face of your business internally AND externally. You are the one who communicates key messages to your audiences, and this includes potential new clients/patients, employees, media members, investors, and the public. Without doing this effectively, you risk losing sales and customers to the competition, getting zero (or negative!) media attention, remaining stagnant, and even dying a slow death.

Didn’t think about this before?

Well, now is the time to review your priorities. It’s up to you to share the right information with your audiences and set a good example.

How Do You Become The Lead Marketer?

• Define Your Marketing Message.

Talk to your team members and learn what is in place to get new clients/patients in the door, how they are treated, what your referral process is, and what’s going on with marketing and public relations’ activities. Know the ideas you want to share (when, why, and how) and ensure there is a process in place to track results. After all, “a confused mind doesn’t buy,” and if you and your team have conflicting messaging, your targeted audience members will, too.

• Communicate And Respond.

People want to do business with human beings they “know, like and trust,” and the only way to create this credibility is to build relationships. You can do this by sharing personal insights, stories, news, and other data (that AI does not have access to) on a regular basis. And remember, communication goes both ways, so answer questions, follow up on media requests, be “social” on social media, and talk to your clients and associates regularly.

Get to know them and let them get to know you.

You’ll learn a lot about how you can fulfill the needs of others, improve media awareness, and boost your bottom line in the process.

• Let Go Of Your Ego.

Yes, you’ve worked hard to get where you are, but this is not the time to let your ego get the best of you.

Roll up your sleeves, get to work and learn what’s happening in your office!

This way, you’ll discover small issues before they become major problems, place employees in the right positions and really have a pulse on your business so that you can act quickly and take advantage of new opportunities.

Market Your Way To Success!

As the lead marketer, it’s important to share the right marketing messages at the right time with the right people. To do this, you need to know what, when and how to communicate, respond accordingly, and diminish your ego, so you can really get to know the people and processes at your business or practice.

Yes! This is a lot of work, but it will give you a competitive advantage, boost revenue and create a happier, more productive work environment.

Now, go be a great leader, er, I mean, marketer!
