AI, EI, Oh!

Emotional intelligence is key to AI writing

Is Your Artificial Intelligence (AI) Content Missing The Human Touch?

AI can create content for your business or practice quickly and easily. But be careful! It lacks emotional intelligence, or EI.

Emotional Intelligence is all about being aware of emotions and using them in problem solving and daily tasks. (See Psychology Today.)

AI draws information from the Internet to create content. It’s fast and efficient, but if you don’t add the human touch to AI-generated data, you can turn potential customers and patients away!

With this in mind, here are…

Insights To Generate Great Content With AI AND EI

1. Use AI for Research.

If you need information, trends, stats, and more to start writing your content, you can use ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, or another AI tool to get answers to your specific prompts. Within seconds, you’ll have a list of responses that will help generate some ideas for your content.

But before you start using the information verbatim…

2. Check the Data.

The information processed by your AI tool may not be correct. After all, it combs the Internet for information, and we all know how EVERYTHING online is factual! Not! If you are going to use data, stats, quotes, and more that your AI tool provides, confirm that the information is correct first. You’ll save yourself from a lot of embarrassment and other issues later on.

3. Look At Copyright Information.

When you choose the AI responses that you want to use in your content, be sure you have the right to use it!

Some of the content that it provides may be taken from books, manuscripts, reports, and other data that cannot be republished without permission… or at all. Check before you use it as you don’t want to be hit with a “cease and desist” letter… or worse!

Now that you have your great ideas to start writing, don’t forget emotional intelligence!

People want to do business with people they “know, like and trust.” Well, if you use AI-generated content only, you will not get your message across so that your potential customers, clients and patients take action.

After all, AI has no idea what’s going on in your head! It cannot share your ideas, opinions, thoughts, or stories… and stories are important. People love them, and by sharing your stories, you make your content real. Plus, this type of content shows your personal style, tone and insights that no one else can copy…

This means that copy written with emotional intelligence gives you a competitive edge!

Sure. You can cut and paste the content that your AI tool generates. But you won’t get the results you want. So, even if you can do all of this work in minutes, you waste those minutes on content that doesn’t work!

Instead, use your AI tool to get your thoughts and ideas going. Look at the data it provides, and START with that. Then, add your stories, thoughts and personal insights.

Yes, this takes extra time and effort, but this is the type of content that resonates with your target market.

Now, if you are too busy to add EI to your writing, hire an experienced copywriter to help you. Then, you can focus on your core responsibilities and share your personal messaging at the same time. Just be sure that your copywriter uses AI for research and not verbatim writing! Then, you’ll just be back at square one!

AI + EI = Great Content With a Competitive Edge!

There is nothing wrong with taking advantage of AI tools to write your content. It’s fast, easy and can help you generate great ideas. Just be sure not to use that copy verbatim!

Instead, check it for accuracy and avoid copyright issues. Then, add the emotional intelligence that comes with your stories, personal insights and thoughts. This way, you will get your message across to your target market like no one else can, save time and money and enjoy content success!
